Venlo was once a military checkpoint of the roman empire, later in 13th century it was a place for market. Venlo became a town in the year 1343. During the World War II Venlo was important for the military. A lot of its historic buildings were destroyed. Today Venlo is a popular city for shopping and weekend trips.
